Thiazolyl Blue (MTT, Tetrazolium bromide, Methylthiazolyldiphenyl-tetrazolium bromide, Methylthialazole Tetrazolium)是一种细胞可渗透且带正电的比色剂,被广泛用于检测细胞中的还原代谢以及测量细胞增殖,细胞毒性和凋亡。Thiazolyl Blue (MTT) 在活细胞中会从黄色还原为紫色的甲臜。
体外研究
Thiazolyl Blue (MTT) is used in conjunction with rhodamine B to measure mitochondrial membrane potential. Thiazolyl Blue-formazan is generated in mitochondria acts as a fluorescence quencher for rhodamine that distributes across membranes of viable cells according to membrane potential. In the absence of mPMS, cellular reduction of Thiazolyl Blue is strong. Thiazolyl Blue is membrane-impermeable when incorporated into large unilamellar liposomes, and therefore it is taken up by cells via endocytosis.
